A tiny, system-wide 3-band equalizer for macOS.
AudiosteerEQ applies equalization to whatever is playing on your Mac —
no setup, no virtual devices. Below are answers to common questions; if you’re stuck,
just email us.
Frequently asked questions
- What are the system requirements?
- macOS 14.4 (Sonoma) or later, on Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
- Why does it ask for permission the first time?
- To apply EQ, macOS asks your permission to capture the audio playing on your Mac.
AudiosteerEQ processes that audio on your device only — it is never recorded or sent
anywhere. See our Privacy Policy.
- I don’t hear any change / the EQ isn’t applying.
- Check that AudiosteerEQ is switched on (the transport pill), and that you allowed it
to capture audio when prompted. You can review this in System Settings → Privacy &
Security. If audio was already playing when you launched the app, try restarting playback.
- What is AudiosteerEQ Plus?
- Plus is an optional one-time in-app purchase that unlocks the high-pass and low-pass
filters, Coarse mode, the extended ±24 dB range, unlimited saved presets, global hotkeys,
always-on-top, and the Dock / menu-bar icon options. The 3-band EQ, Bold/Clean modes,
Snap, themes, and up to two presets are free.
- How do I restore a purchase on a new Mac?
- Open AudiosteerEQ, trigger any Plus feature to bring up the purchase dialog, and
choose Restore. Restores are handled by Apple using the Apple ID that made the
original purchase, at no additional cost.
- How do I request a refund?
- Purchases are processed by Apple. Refund requests are handled through Apple at
reportaproblem.apple.com.
